Considerations for wet areas
Swimming pools, spa baths, steam rooms and shower areas are the most susceptible areas for tile failures. High levels of exposure to water or complete submersion, expansion and contraction from weather cycles, temperature fluctuation from heaters, adverse weather conditions or high levels of chemical exposure, are some of the common reasons behind failures in each of these areas. When tiling such troublesome areas, you must pay attention to the details of the environment to be tiled, as well as the products that you are tiling with. Each party involved in any project, whether supplier, installers or consumer, each have a certain level of responsibility to ensure that the project is finished to a standard that will withstand the test of time.
The mesh backed tiles (Right) used in this project (Left), were not suitable for swimming pools due to the lack of adhesion area on the back of the tile. The tiles started falling off one by one and soon enough the entire pool needed resurfacing.
Supplier responsibilities
As suppliers, it is our responsibility to ensure that we are supplying the tiler and admirer with a product that is fit for the purpose, produced to the highest quality standard and that passes the relating Australian standards. Another responsibility that we have as suppliers, is to ensure that our tiles have been successfully tested with adhesive manufacturers to ensure compatibility and suitability for the intended application.

Installers responsibilities
As for the installer, it is their responsibility to ensure that all stages of installation are carried out correctly, and, in accordance with the product installation specifications and Australian standards. It is also the responsibility of the installer to consider the possible effects that the surrounding environment may have on the installation. Substrate conditions, weather, temperature and humidity can all effect the performance of glues and grouts and will be taken into consideration by any quality installer.
Consumers responsibilities
As a consumer and admirer, your only responsibility will be choosing a supplier of quality products, along with an installer of experience and knowledge.

We ensure that the ezarri products conform to the Australian standards for many areas including high moisture/wet area application. As well as surpassing the Australian standards, the ezarri JointPoint backing system has been successfully tested with all major adhesive/grout manufacturers for installation in pools, spa's and other high moisture areas. Combining the ezarri JointPoint backing system with specifications for installation, the project can be warranted for 15 years by the manufacturers alone, now that's piece of mind!
We demand only the best products for our clients.Our workmanship is top of the line however using slightly cheaper tiles you always end up with complications. Ezarri tiles are perfectly parallel on each sheet which means each tile matches up with the another one, this is exceptionally important when fully tiling swimming pools. The dot matrix adhesive (JointPoint system) allows up to 92% of the tile to bond directly to the pools sub straight with of course using Laticrete adhesives.
Where Government Authorities have now reduced the owners warranty from 7 years to 2, the Laticrete 10 or 15 year warranty with Ezarri is by far the best option for all our clients and commercially this is a standard specification.
